The “Noëlies”

Created five years ago, The Noëlies comprise a broad range of entertainment and events. The many shows, classical music concerts and choir performances carry audiences off on a spiritual voyage through the heart of the Alsatian Christmas. At this important time of the year for cultural life in Alsace, The Noëlies connect Christmas in Alsace to the very origins of Christmas itself, its true meaning. They are a time for remembering the symbolic dimension of the holidays, and a time for rejoicing in the universal spirit of Christmas.

The 2007 edition of the event focuses on the theme of the voice in all its diverse forms. Be it in the intimate setting of a piano recital, in concert with a full choir or in a choir with orchestral accompaniment, the voice is cause for celebration. Artists come from many regions of the Rhine, thus highlighting Alsace’s place at the very crossroads of Europe.
