In Christian religions, Nativity scenes are re-creations of the birth of Jesus Christ. They are almost always associated with the Christmas holiday. Today, people have varying styles and methods for rendering the Nativity scene more lifelike, with traditions of adding a new character or item each day. Christmas in Alsace places great emphasis on this ancestral tradition.
