One of the most popular customs is that of Christkindel and Hans Trapp. On Christmas Eve, Christkindel and his friend the horrible Hans Trapp go from house to house, giving sweets to those children who have been good during the past year. As for those who have been naughty, the abominable Hans Trapp takes them away in his great bag into a deep forest, and they are never to be seen again!
